HIRAX Cancels Six Out Of Ten East Coast Dates

November 10, 2006

Due to circumstances beyond their control, HIRAX has cancelled six dates out of their 10-show East Coast tour, which will now begin on Saturday, November 11 at North Six in Brooklyn.

Vocalist Katon W. De Pena found out one day before HIRAX was leaving for the East Coast that the booking agent, Extremity Retained, failed to secure the band a backline and a van for them.

"I don't want to disappoint our fans, but the fact is it will be too much of an expense for us to complete all 10 dates," said De Pena. "We flew into Philadelphia yesterday not knowing how we were going to get from show to show or what we were going to do about amps and drums. Now we have rent a van and borrow or rent equipment, which was supposed to be provided by Extremity Retained Booking. I'm frustrated that I found out at the last minute that the booker was useless, but things like this are learning experiences and make HIRAX want to work even harder. We will make some of the shows happen because our East Coast fans have been so supportive of HIRAX over the years, and we will definitely be back next year for a proper East Coast tour."

Tour dates:

Nov. 11 - North Six, Brooklyn, NY
Nov. 12 - Middle East Downstairs, Boston, MA
Nov. 14 - Montage Music, Rochester, NY
Nov. 17 - The Sterling Hotel, Allentown, PA
